France and Italy have gandola stations that interconnect with each other.  The ride is spectacular since it traverses the French and Italian Alps.  At the top you can see Mount Blanc, which is Europe's highest mountain.  I commenced this journey from Charmonix, France and ended up on Courmayeur, Italy.  In this picture, I await my second gandola ascent towards I'Aiguille Du Midi.  I'Aiguille Du Midi is at the very peak above.

Still on the gandola heading towards Helbronner gandola station.  I took this picture of the Italian Alps.

Don't know how the French and Italian's strung these gandola cables over these dangerous glacier crevasses down below.  I am glad they did because the views are spectacular!

An ocean of glaciers on top of the Alps.  All that sticks out are the sharp peaks of mountains.  We were about 600 hundred feet above these dangerous cravasses.

Among all this danger you still find the daring climbers testing their limits.  See them ascending up this peak?

Helbronner gandola station (3462m).  Back in Italia!  My track across the French and Italian Alps is complete :(

Courmayeur, Italy where down below.  After I descend by gandola I will take a bus to Aosta.

From Helbronner I arrive at Mont Frety (2174m).  I still have another 1000m to descend to Courmayeur.  checkout the tall  Italian Alps behind me.

The entrance of the TransAlpine tunnel between Italy and France.  It is temporarily closed for safety reasons.  Earlier in the year there was a fire inside the tunnel.
