The Gran Paradiso mountain (4081m) in the distance.  Although I did not dare scale that mountain, I did a magnificent hike inside it.  This picture was taken from my apartment window in Cogne.

After walking an entire hour into the  valley, I began to ascend up to Le Money cabin.  The ascent took me almost an hour.  From this picture you can see the Gran paradiso valley.

Ya yo se porque se llama el Gran Paradiso.  Oh, excuse me.  I thought I was still in Italy.  The glacier river flowing from the hanging glaciers.

After the steep climb up the valley wall, I picked up a contour trail towards Le Money cabin.

There we go, Le Money cabin (2325m).  I was really impressed with this park.  The trials were well maintained and marked.

Ok, here I am at the Le Money cabin.  But no money.  Just beer cans laying around and a drunk old man.

After an easy stroll up to Le Money, I look for something a little more challenging.  So I hike up to Bivacco Money with these two English chaps.  On our ascent the wind is whipping!  Up above there is a yellow bivouac cabin.  Can you see it?

Bivacco money (2872m).  Yeap, I've met my challenge getting here.  In the distance is Saint Bernard Mountains.  Oh, I checked.  No money here neither :(

That's me on top of this huge rock.  Enormous.  I would hate for this to land on top of me.  We continue our descent down from Bivacco Money.

After descending down Le Bivacco Money, I head deeper inside the valley.  Eventually I will descend down to the valley floor and return on the opposite side of the river.
