Les Praz gandola station.  Les Praz is about a mile northwest of Charmonix.  The gandola ride to Flegere would save me an 877m climb.

After arriving at Flegere (1877m), I ascended 200 m and took this picture.  The glacier on the opposite side of the valley is Mer de Glace.  The Grand Balcon Nord contours along the mountains.  Down below is Les Praz and Charmonix.

     The backside of Lac Blanc.  I considered hiking all the way back to the end of the valley but the feat would have taken me at least another 2 hours.

     After leaving Lac Blanc, I followed this contour hike to Index.  From Index I would ride the gandola down to Flegere.

     Index station (2385m).  My hiking for the day is not yet over :)

     After arriving at Flegere, I proceeded down to the most beautiful chalet in Europe.  Chalet de la Floria.

   Down below is Les Praz.  Can you see the bright colored gandola heading down?  Well that was my ride down.  guess I will have to endure this descent :)

     Look at this!  Chalet de la Floria.  I enjoyed a light dinner here before proceeding to Charmonix.
